Faheem is not a record of a life. He is a fictional man carrying the weight of real questions: what enters us before language, what families ask us to become, and how an identity can function for years before the person inside it begins to notice.
The story moves through the installed, functioning, and noticing selves—through houses, absences, obligations, memory, and the late return of a voice that was never entirely lost.
